Surprise!

Hello Everyone!

Today, as I sat in the kitchen, my step-dad Glenn came home and began to eat potato chips. He dropped one on the counter, and my mother picked it up and put it back in the bag. As a joke, Glenn got the chip back out and put it back on the counter. In a split second, my mom had grabbed a water bottle, opened it, and thrown water on Glenn. It was such a surprise to all of us and we laughed for minutes afterward. Therefore, today's subject is going to be surprises.

I don't know about you guys, but personally I prefer to not know what I'm going to be given for Christmas. I'm not one to not submit a list, or ask Santa for something really special, and then hope for that gift; however, I submit those lists early so that I can have time to forget what I asked for in hopes of being surprised Christmas morning. For example, last year I had asked for Buffy the Vampire Slayer books. I assumed that Mom would just buy me the other two out of the trilogy that I had started to buy. Unbeknownst to me, she purchased every single Buffy book that had ever been written. When I awoke Christmas morning, Mom and Glenn had set up a trail down the stairs, through the dining room and up to the tree. It was so fun getting that surprise as my first present!

If you are one of those people who want to be told what they're getting for Christmas, why do you want to know? I mean this in no offense; I am just curious as to why you wouldn't want the surprise in the morning.

If you aren't one of those people who want to know what you're getting, what's the best surprise you've had Christmas morning?

I think that's just about it for today. I'm sorry for the very short blog, but there's just not much to discuss when it comes to surprising people.

Until next time,
Lasagna Claus

  1. I can't believe you told the whole world about my momentary lapse in judgement! I laughed so hard I almost peed myself! Last year (or was it year before last?), when you made that diorama with the sky and clouds and all the strands of origami cranes! That was a beautiful surprise that I will never forget!
